چکیده

We derive a dynamical mean-field theory for mixtures of interacting bosons and fermions on a lattice (BFDMFT). The BF-DMFT is a comprehensive, thermodynamically consistent framework for the theoretical investigation of Bose-Fermi mixtures and is applicable for arbitrary values of the coupling parameters and temperatures. It becomes exact in the limit of high spatial dimensions d or coordination number Z of the lattice. In particular, the BF-DMFT treats normal and condensed bosons on equal footing and thus includes the effects caused by their dynamic coupling. Using the BF-DMFT we investigate two different interaction models of correlated lattice bosons and fermions, one where all particles are spinless (model I) and one where fermions carry a spin one-half (model II). In model I the local, repulsive interaction between bosons and fermions can give rise to an attractive effective interaction between the bosons. In model II it can also lead to an attraction between the fermions.

Correlated bosons on a lattice: Dynamical mean-field theory for Bose-Einstein condensed and normal phases

We formulate a bosonic dynamical mean-field theory B-DMFT which provides a comprehensive, thermodynamically consistent framework for the theoretical investigation of correlated lattice bosons. The B-DMFT is applicable for arbitrary values of the coupling parameters and temperature and becomes exact in the limit of high spatial dimensions d or coordination number Z of the lattice. In contrast to...

Dynamical mean-field theory for light-fermion–heavy-boson mixtures on optical lattices

We theoretically analyze Fermi-Bose mixtures consisting of light fermions and heavy bosons that are loaded into optical lattices ignoring the trapping potential . To describe such mixtures, we consider the Fermi-Bose version of the Falicov-Kimball model on a periodic lattice. This model can be exactly mapped onto the spinless Fermi-Fermi Falicov-Kimball model at zero temperature for all paramet...

From the Cooper problem to canted supersolids in Bose-Fermi mixtures.

We calculate the phase diagram of the Bose-Fermi Hubbard model on the 3d cubic lattice at fermionic half filling and bosonic unit filling by means of single-site dynamical mean-field theory. For fast bosons, this is equivalent to the Cooper problem in which the bosons can induce s-wave pairing between the fermions. We also find miscible superfluid and canted supersolid phases depending on the i...

Mean-field theory of spin-liquid states with finite energy gap and topological orders.

The mean field theory of a T and P symmetric spin liquid state is developed. The quasiparticle excitations in the spin liquid state are shown to be spin 1 2 neutral fermions (the spinons) and charge e spinless bosons (the holons). The spin liquid state is shown to be characterized by a non-trivial topological order. Although our discussions are based on the mean field theory, the concept of the...

Magnetic ordering of three-component ultracold fermionic mixtures in optical lattices

We study finite-temperature magnetic phases of three-component mixtures of ultracold fermions with repulsive interactions in optical lattices with simple cubic or square geometry by means of dynamical mean-field theory (DMFT). We focus on the case of one particle per site (1/3 band filling) at moderate interaction strength, where we observe a sequence of thermal phase transitions into twoand th...
